Four years ago, the unstoppable Carlota Lee asked me to emcee her inaugural SuperMom Walk/Run in West Vancouver. My response? "Sure, I guess... I mean, we all know I love a microphone."
But then the "why" became personal. When I told my mom I was volunteering, she told me something I had never known: "That’s great; your great-grandmother had Parkinson’s."
I had no idea.
I started this with a very limited understanding of the disease, but the more I promote this run, the more I hear just how many families are navigating this journey. That’s why this event means so much to me.
This Mother’s Day (Sunday, May 10th), I’m asking you to join me. Whether you’re walking in honor of a woman living with Parkinson’s or a woman supporting a partner through it, your presence matters. We’re lacing up for a 5km walk/run to raise vital funds for peer support, specialized programs, and research that changes lives.
This isn't just about gathering to move on Mothers day—it’s about elevating voices and building a future where every woman can live boldly, without limits.
